WE HIT $15K! . . . It's vote time (in more ways than one) - Stretch Goal Update
over 3 years ago – Tue, Sep 29, 2020 at 10:00:37 PM

Backer-Chosen Design

Hey all, having hit our $15k stretch goal it's time to vote on which design you'd like us to make! We compiled a long list from all the Kickstarter comments and discord messages, and have whittle it down to the five we think will make the best designs and boons. Without further ado, click here, and arrange them in your preferred order.

The options on the table:

  • Bloodhunter
  • Commoner
  • Gunslinger
  • Pugilist
  • Familiars

Stretch Goal Update - Card Stock

We've had a change! The manufacturer we're working with can't produce cards with a linen finish (at least, not in time to get them to you ASAP). So, we're using thicker card stock (300 GSM) as promised, but instead of the linen finish, we're increasing the size of the pins from 33 to 44mm (1.25" to 1.75")! This also let's us really pick out the details of Mo's designs.

We think this is a positive swap and hope it'll make you all as excited as it's making us!

Okay, that's all for now. If there's any problems with the survey, please let us know!

Thanks,

Max (and Mo!)

P.s. USA backers, if Facebook hasn't blasted you with it enough, remember: don't forget to vote!

Community Designs and Our Friends at The Tome of Summoning
over 3 years ago – Fri, Sep 25, 2020 at 02:58:22 PM

Hey folks,

Given our trajectory it looks like we might hit $15k before this finishes - that means community designs! If there's something you'd like to see as a pin, we're making a long list now. Either drop a comment on this update or head over to the Loot Tavern Discord and drop a suggestion in the #kickstarter channel :)

Classes are preferred (to fit with the theme) but we won't say no to a really cool idea that isn't a class! We'll select a short list and run a vote as soon as we hit $15k!

The Tome of Summoning

Nayan and Lee have absolutely crushed their kickstarter campaign - and with good reason. They've made a really neat system to help DMs run encounters in 5th-edition D&D. What I really like about this is how clear the quick-reference monster cards are, and how they can also be used to track initiative. Plus the art is really beautiful, and the paper minis fit inside the card in their 'Tome' storage binder. Very neat! Here it is in their own words:

So, what better way to prepare for your post-COVID D&D sessions then with this marvelous monster package? Click here to visit their campaign. Full disclosure, we're promoting each others' campaign because a) we really like them and b) we think you'll like them too!

Till next time!

$10k Goal Reached & Boon Feedback
over 3 years ago – Wed, Sep 23, 2020 at 02:02:08 PM

We hit $10k! Better, more durable cards have been unlocked. Way to go folks :) Next up: community chosen design! If you have suggestions for it, drop us a comment.

Thanks to the pin-master Frost Dragon for giving us a shoutout - that link will take you to their shop!

Now we need some feedback from you guys! All the boons are available for preview here on reddit. Each one enhances a low level (1st or 2nd) ability of each class, and involves an active choice/activation rather than a passive benefit. We're happy with the direction each takes, but we're trying to make them around the same power level.

For example, the sorcerer pin gives the ability to change one metamagic option on a long rest. One piece of feedback was that this was the weakest boon. To bring it on par we've suggested that the boon gives one additional metamagic option, that you can change it after finishing a long rest. This increases flexibility, and involves a choice, rather than the alternative suggestion of adding more sorcery points.

So, head on over to the post, and gives us your 2 cents!

Thanks,

Max (and Mo!)

ALL DESIGNS UNLOCKED!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Sep 12, 2020 at 02:46:01 PM

Hey again - it's Max!

We hit the $8000 stretch goal! That means the final four designs - Artificer, Bard, Ranger, and Sorcerer are unlocked. Woop!

The next goal is $10k. If we hit that, we'll upgrade the cards so they feel extra... lineny. And beyond that? The audience voted class. Could it a bloodhunter? Gunslinger? Necromancer? Pugilist? So many options. Give anyone you know a link and help spread the word!

Keep safe, friends!

First Stretch Goal Unlocked! Fighter, Monk, Rogue, and Wizard Will be Made!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Sep 10, 2020 at 12:51:51 AM

Hey folks,

Some time whilst we were sleeping we hit the $6000 mark. In fact we got up to $7000, which means we're only $1000 away from unlocking all the base classes! Thank you so much!

If you know anyone who would like these, why not send them a link? It will help us reach those stretch goals!

Thanks,

Max (and Mo!)
